David Dipnall was born in Scotland during the early war years but attended Portsmouth Grammar School. He started his career in Engineering Design but gave this up in 1968 when he and his wife, Audrey, settled in Australia for five years, where Dipnall worked in product design and later taught at a Grammar School. On his return to England in the summer of 1974, Dipnall became a professional artist in response to the demand for his work. He is now an established leading landscape artist with his work regularly on the best seller list. His works are instantly recognisable and are always very evocative English landscape scenes. David Dipnall is a recognised British landscape artist both nationally and internationally and in 2002 he was awarded the Best-Selling Published Artist Award with over fifty of his works now published as limited edition prints.
